Rwanda, the country that continues to impress from the colourful markets, the radiant people, and of visitors, the great range of accommodation options available. Once back in the Virunga Volcanoes region, we were constantly in awe of the surrounding volcanic range, its several peaks over 14,000 feet in an amphitheatre around our lodge. And of course tracking the gorillas was the highlight; being amongst these great beasts while they continue their daily ritual of feeding, sleeping and rummaging around the low thickets of the montane forest. And though I’ve had close to 60 visits here over the years, each time remains truly intoxicating.
