Riding High in Kenya

With Halina on holidays we made sure to get to all the great horse stables in Kenya! Fortunately that begins at home in the Mara where the quality of the horses, and the rides, continues to improve.

The grand finale of this equestrian adventure was on the fantastic Borana Wildlife Conservancy. We’re spoilt for choice in our options to stay here, and many guests have enjoyed safaris with me here over the years; the exclusive stays at Laragai, Arijiju, Fuzz’s Camp and Sirai House are all spectacular.

Having Halina spend some time at Sirai was especially exciting, as they have world-class international bloodlines in their horses through their breeding program. The aim is to breed and produce top class horses to eventually increase the competitive equestrian standard throughout the country. Their facilities are second to none, and this would be the most luxurious horse ride in Africa for experienced riders. You can only imagine Halina’s beaming smile for the rest of the day after a morning riding here.

We’ve been loving the personalized feel staying with Fuzz and Bimbi Dyer more regularly too. While at Fuzz’s Camp in January, we were out riding often twice a day and even managed to get Oliver on a horse! Bimbi’s rides are just a walk away from their camp and are available for all levels of ability.
